Medium size application, large peak demand, 180 degree output for washing dishes and regular usage for other processes. The combination of the tankless unit with a timer and a reservoir tank provided the least expensive solution. We put in two heating units and set the second unit to not come on during peak electrical billing periods. That limited the customer’s energy costs. Also, the system shuts down when the customer is not open so the standby heat loss associated with the tank is minimized.
At a total system cost of less than $4500 the customer has the 180 degree water necessary for dishwashing and for all the other needs of a restarurant. Again, they selected the 480 volt three phase system due to the extra efficiency.
