This customer had a high demand for extremely hot water at clean up and virtually no demand the rest of the day. Their primary problem was it took too long to clean up at the end of the day as their tank heater ran out of hot water. The combination of the tankless unit with a timer and a reservoir tank provided the least expensive solution. We ultimately put in two heating units and set the second unit to not come on during peak electrical billing periods. That limited the customerís energy costs. Also, the system shuts down when the customer is not open to minimize the standby heat loss associated with the tank.

At a total system cost of less than $4500 the customer has the 200-300 gallons of 180 degree water necessary for clean up in one hour. They selected the 480 volt three phase system due to the extra efficiency.
